Why are the carved antler pieces available only once?
Each carved antler is unique and difficult to produce. Michelle makes several carved antlers per year and they are usually purchased quickly.
Can I be on a waiting list for a carved antler?
Currently, Michelle is not taking reservations for her carved work. They are in high demand and are available for a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in her carved works and release dates, please join her mailing list.
How many carved antlers is Michelle creating per year?
That is up to the artist. Currently Michelle is working on an “In tandem” series in which her carved antlers work hand-in-hand to tell a story with her stippled piece of art. Since both are time consuming, the artist is able to produce several per year and at her discretion.
What type of material is used to create the carved antlers?
Michelle uses grade “A” naturally shed moose paddles and horns to create her carved works.
Where do the antlers come from?
The antlers are usually purchased from Alaska and Canada. The size of the paddles are generally larger than paddles found in the Continental USA. The antlers are carved from naturally shed moose paddles as well as deer and elk horns. No animals are hurt in the process.
